This means that a doctor inspects a woman semiannually to monitor the development of pathological process and prescribe medication.

The type of therapy depends on the form of the disease, the phase, the age of woman, other ginecological diseases, etc.

There is a lot of medicine which are used for mastopathy treatment nowadays, and their assortment increases every day.

During the process of mastopathy treatment a diet is corrected. A woman is recommended to avoid coffee, tea, chocolate, alcohol, and cigarets. She should choose brasserie carefully. A doctor prescribe vitamins, diuretics, antiphlogistics, etc.

Hormonals which can be prescribed:

Progestins (norcolut or pregnin). Medications are prescribed during the second phase of the menstrual cycle from 16 to 25 day.

Antiestrogen preparations – tamoxifen or fareston.

Drugs that inhibit the secretion of the hormone prolactin: Parlodel (bromkriptin).

Androgen preparations: methyltestosterone, testobromletsid.

As for the vitamins, the most beneficial effect has tocopherol (vitamin E),

The vitamins A, B1, B6 are also recommended for a long time.

Also antioxidants are widely used, e.g. keratin, and iodine preparations.

Anti-inflammatory prepations and diuretics are prescibed to reduce the morbidity of mammary glands during the second phase of the menstrual cycle.

Sometimes mastoparthy is treated with homeopatic remedies and herbal medecine.

Nodal mastopathy used to be treated with surgical intervention but now the majority of surgeons think that a surgery does not remove the cause of the disease and sometimes nodes arise again.

A woman should also avoid physiotherapy, visiting the baths, sun and artificial tanning.

We are glad to offer an interview given by Michael Fisher during the conference of the American Association mammalogists in San Diego.

CancerAil: Dear Michael, you devoted a part of your report to the results of your mastopathy research. Could tell our readers about masthopathy and your progress in mastopathy treatment.

MF: Mastopathy – one of the most common women’s diseases. Not so terrible in itself, it can lead to terrible consequences – breast cancer.

CancerAil: Michael, what does it mean – mastopathy?

Michael: Mastopathy is a collective term that includes several groups of diseases. Some of them can be clearly defined as cancer but in some cases we only talk about precancerous conditions. We investigate both in our daily practice and research activities. Generally speaking, the mastopathy is a breast disease manifested by pathological growth of breast tissue.

CancerAil: Is mastopathy common disease or rare?

MF: Mashopathy is the most common women disease nowadays. According our statistics 60 women out of 100 thousand have breast cancer.

CancerAil: Why it is so widespread?

MF: This disease arises as a result of hormonal imbalance and connected to wrong work female genital organs. Hormonal imbalance can be caused by several factors: infectious gynecological diseases, emotional overload and stress, interruption of pregnancy, etc.

CancerAil: Michael, what does the woman, having mastopathy, feel? What signs should alert her?

MF: The most obvious symptom of mastopathy is discomfort in the breasts. The premenstrual breast engorgement for 2-3 days before the menstrual period is usual but if the breast begin to swell in the middle of the cycle, feels “bulging” of her nipples, there are sanies from the nipples a woman should see a doctor because all those can symptoms of precancerous mastopathy.

I want to remind that regular visiting of mammalogist is required for the women’s health. The specialist should be visited at least twice a year. I recommend self-breast examination too (monthly). The methods and description of such a checkup is easy to find in women’s magazines, popular literature, on the Internet. If you notice any of above symptoms you should immediately see a doctor!

Sometimes the woman have no possibility to see a mammalogist in the near future. In this case you need to turn to a gynecologist or surgeon.

CancerAil: Is the mastopathy associated with pregnancy and breastfeeding?

MF: It is proved that breastfeeding influences beneficially to women breast.

CancerAil: In the beginning of our interview we’ve talked about the fact that the mastopathy is the most common women disease. Can you denote the risk groups of women who have predisposition to mastopathy?

MF: First of all, those are women having someone in their familis who have suffered from breast diseases. The women who have hereditary predisposition to breast cancer should to care their health more carefully. They MUST regularly visit a mammalogist and inspect themselves. The trauma of breast can easily cause the development of tumor process. Injuries can lurk the active woman everywhere. It can be mountain skiing, snowboarding, driving and even aerobics and ballroom dancing.

CancerAil: Thanks for the interesting interview, Michael!

Hair dyeing cause brain cancer
There is no reliable evidence that cancer can be caused by hair dye.

2. Using mobile phones causes cancer of the brain
There has been a lot of speculation about cell (mobile) phones insalubrity but none of the “experts” prove this thesis.

3. If your mother or father suffered from cancer you would sicken too.
There is a bit of truth: some types of cancer (e.g. breast cancer or ovarian cancer) can be caused by bad heredity. Those gens only increase the probability to get cancer but it does not mean that you will get sick in any case. That is only likelihood.

4. Hair loss can be caused by cancer.
The hairloss is the side effect of the usual cancer treatments like chemotherapy because some remedies block growth of hair.

5. The breast cancer is the is a disease of women only.
Man breast cancer is uncommon thing but it happpen sometimes.

6. There is reliabe cancer treatment, but pharmaceutical giants conceal it.
No, they have no secret remedies. Why? Because a lot of rich people die from cancer every year. If pharmaceutical companies had reliable cancer treatments they would sell them for a high price. High price but not total hiding. It would be too dull.

7. The majority of people die if they have cancer.
Nowdays a lot of people survive and live a full life. The percent of those is increasing every year.

8. Antiperspirants and deodorants can cause cancer.
This mith is popular women but we have no credible evidence this thesis. It is only mith, no more.

9. Some types of cancer are infectious.
Cancer is not contagious.

10. Positive thinking heal cancer.
Positive attitude can help live through all the cancer difficulties but to our regret you should not rely only on positive thinking to cure cancer.
